Storm Group

Assembled from throughout the division, these brave workers' heros are equipped with the best close assault weapons to drive out the Fascists.

Contains 1 small and 9 medium bases, 1 officer, 1 NCO, 13 SMG/charge armed, 24 SMGs.

Shturmovye Gruppy

Like the German army, the Red army learnt well from the lessons of the early street fighting in Stalingrad. Specialist assault groups were formed to capture key buildings and locations.

Each Shturmovye Gruppy or Storm Group was unique, but they shared much in common. Each force was usually split into three groups, the Assault Group consisting of SMG armed troops additionally armed with grenades whose task it was to assault the objective.

They were followed by the Reinforcement Group armed with long range defensive weapons such as machine-guns, anti-tank rifles and mortars. This group was tasked with holding the newly gained objective from counter attack.

Finally there was the Reserve Group tasked with supplying reinforcements to the Assault and Reinforcement Groups as required.

In Flames Of War

Like the German Assault Troop, the main assaulting force of the Storm Group (the Assault Group) are Pioneer SMG teams, they gain any extra fire support they may need from the Reinforcement and Reserve Groups.

You can choose from Pioneer SMG, Pioneer Rifle/MG, Light Mortar, Anti-tank Rifle, HMG, 82-BM-41 mortars or 76mm obr 1927 gun teams to fill out these groups. You can even swap multiple Storm teams for more potent weapons such as the 45mm obr 1937 gun or Flame-thrower teams.

Though you can only have 4 of any type of Storm team. Both the Reinforcement and Reserve Group come with a Pioneer SMG team at its head.

Finally because of their specialist nature, and the fact that only the best are chosen fro these missions, Soviet Storm Groups are Fearless Trained.

Pack Contents

Inside the pack you will find enough miniatures to make 9 Pioneer SMG teams and a Command Pioneer SMG team. 7 Pioneer SMG teams are for the Assault Group and 1 each for the Reinforcement and Reserve Groups.

Further Storm teams can be obtained from the appropriate packs in the Soviet range.
